The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyema, has assured communities faced with challenges caused by climate change of the total commitment of the Federal Government to combating the threat it poses to the people.
Mr Geoffery made this known when he inaugurated the ecological fund intervention projects executed at the Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu in Isluzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on July 7.
He said the Government is aware of the counter effects of climate change and the many challenges faced by communities, therefore how to support the people is a priority to his administration.
On the inaugurated projects, the Minister said that the intervention is a way for the Federal Government to deliver on its promises.
He commended the school authority for reaching out to the federal government, as the project originated from their appeal. He also said that government response is as the result of the importance his administration attaches to the development of education institution.
The Minster assured them of government continued support as colleges of education are important to the current administration and that there is a need to make life attractive to the youths in the rural area in order to curb rural-urban migration.
The inaugurated projects are internal roads covering four kilometers (km), soil erosion and flood control.
