Go wild for life on World Environment Day!

What’s your favourite wild animal? Eco Nigeria is a sea turtle. How cool is that.

This year, World Environment Day, organized on 5 June by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), draws attention to the illegal trade of wildlife products that are threatening the Earth’s biodiversity and robbing us of our natural heritage.

Elephants, rhinos, gorillas and sea turtles are just some of the species that are threatened if we don’t take action to stop illegal killing and smuggling.

We believe in protecting our environment and ensuring the sustainability of our planet’s precious resources, while facilitating legal trade and economic development. UNEP has developed standards to help organizations minimize their impact on the environment and behave in a way that is sustainable and socially responsible… with the ultimate goal of protecting the world’s biodiversity.

On World Environment Day this year, UNEP is calling everyone to celebrate species under threat and take action to safeguard them for future generations. To support this cause, we would like to share a few beautiful images of some incredible but endangered animal species.

We are on board. Are you?
