UNDP/ECN Solar Powered Development Gets To Adamawa

    About 2,000 residents of Hong Local Government Area in Adamawa state have been benefitted from, the United Nations Development Program UNDP and Energy Commission of Nigeria ECN Sustainable Energy for All Project.

    The project which is multifaceted include provision of two tanks of 10,000 liters for portable water through solar-powered pump, solar-powered refrigerator, electrical wiring of the primary health center as well as solar-powered street lights. Before now immunization rate in the community was low as health workers travel for hours to access vaccines which must be stored in a cool place. The project is aimed at communities that were attacked by the insurgent group Boko Haram and residents returning after the military succeeded in reclaiming the area.
